The scorpion is sunk. His venom still poisons the body politic
Boris Johnson has been a victim of nothing but his own nature. The Tories though have not fully lanced his poison.
In the famous fable, a scorpion convinces a sceptical frog to carry him across a river. Halfway over, the scorpion stings the frog causing them both to drown. With his last breath, the frog asks the scorpion “why?”. The response: “It’s my nature”.
As some of you may remember - a few wonderful people (and me) - wrote and spent the bank holiday writing a play in 48 hours. And it turns out... it's so good we're putting it on again!

It has been oft remarked that no one escapes the orbit of Boris Johnson unscathed. From the BBC to the commons, his willingness to bend the rules to his own - and only his own - advantage - has left a trail of the wounded in his wake.
Johnson’s mainstream political career has ended in disgrace. His own poison has finally caught up him and entered his bloodstream. The appalling behaviour of many, many years has finally become too much for the body politic to bear and it has expelled him from its ranks.
But the truth is, they might be rid of Johnson from the building, but his stench will remain for a long time. And its fumes are still choking the Tory Party. There will be long terms effects of the Faustian pact they made this this particular demon.
